The first stop of our route is in Conímbriga, a place of Roman remains, preserved till this day. Here we can enjoy various construction techniques, forums and other elements brought from the distant lands of the Mediterranean to us. Then we will take the direction of Coimbra, a mandatory point on the route of travelers, one of the cradles of the Portuguese nation. Over the centuries, Coimbra was the place of choice of great teaching masters and their students, who lived great love stories, portraying them in the beautifullyrics of Fado. We will pay a visit to the Holy Cross Monastery, where the first King of Portugal and his son are buried. Then we will visit the Baroque Library and Coimbra’s University, where you’ll learn about traditions, symbols and other student curiosities. Finally, we will visit the place where the most beautiful Portuguese love story took place: the Quinta das Lágrimas. We will follow the footsteps of Pedro and Inês in their forbidden love, and learn the tale of the lady-in- waiting who became queen of Portugal.
