MOURARIA Cultures and Traditions Cultural Walk

The Mouraria is one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon, which owes its name to the fact that D. Afonso Henriques, after the conquest of Lisbon, confined one area of the city to the Arabs. It was in this neighborhood that remained the Moors after the Christian reconquer.
