Will receive you in a very professional way, no dull time is passed, relaxed and knows deeply about the details of the tour.

Salgados is a medium sized coastal lagoon, surrounded by a Dune System and farming fields. With easy access, between Albufeira and Silves, it´s well known for the abundance of a great number of species as more than 200 different birds have already been registered. It´s considered a national hot spot well known for birdwatching and the occurrence of rarities.
In this Important Bird Area (IBA) you can observe, amongst others, the Marsh harrier, the Purpel heron, the Ferruginous duck, the Colloured pratincole or the Penduline tit.
The Lesser yellowleg or the Pectoral sandpiper are some of the North American vegrants registered annually at Salgados lagoon.
As season highlights, we suggest spring when a large number of species start breeding at the lagoon as well the observation of an endemic flower (Linaria algarviana). The autumn with its migrations is the most exciting season of the year for birdwatching where most rarities can be observed.
Join us with our experienced tour guide on organized visits with groups of 2 up to 8 people, with a duration of 4/5 hours (transport included).
