Description
Leave the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle behind you and spend a day in one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world.
On your way to Plitvice Lakes discover its smaller version, Rastoke, a village famous for its watermills and learn about its historical importance.
Choose your own activity level before entering the park and rest assured that your expert guide will give you undivided attention and make your experience unforgettable.
Only thing you will need to worry about is having enough memory on your camera to capture the beauty of mesmerizing waterfalls and 16 interconnected emerald lakes and the flora and fauna surrounding it. Indulge yourself in local cuisine by tasting award wining local cheese at a family run farm and enjoy peka prepared by one of the nicest and most welcoming families you will ever meet.
As the sun sets, finish your day with a relaxing drive, casual atmosphere, friendly chatter and with memories for a lifetime.
The day will start by your local expert guide picking you up at 8:00 AM in Zagreb. During the scenic drive he will provide the itinerary as well as many interesting facts about the passing areas including an overview of Croatia itself.
Our first stop (if selected in the options) will be a quaint family run farm where you will have a taste of truly delicious and multiple times awarded local cheeses. The day would not be complete without visiting Rastoke village, a small fairy tale village where we stop to rest, refresh and of course take a photo of the unique travertine barriers that form small ponds and waterfalls running through the area. After Rastoke we will continue our drive to Plitvice Lakes.
Upon reaching the National Park, you will get an overview of the trails in order to choose the one best suited your interest, time and difficulty level. The tour of the Lakes is guided and your guide is at your disposal to assist you at any moment. During the tour you will be amazed by the majestic natural wonder of the Lakes but also the engineering solutions of unique wooden pathways that perfectly blend into the environment. Take as many photos as possible, this is your day! A perfect way to end the sightseeing is by walking just above the lakes and stopping at the best viewpoints.
After the tour we will reward ourselves with traditional lunch (if option selected) prepared by a local family. The venue is set a bit off the beaten path and ran by extremely welcoming and friendly hosts that prepare food that is sourced locally and grown on their farm. Return to Zagreb in early evening hours.
